Whitko Whips Dragons
SOUTH WHITLEY – The offense was in full swing for the Whitko baseball team Saturday.
The Wildcats lit up the scoreboard with 34 wins in taking a pair from visiting Argos.
Whitko won the opener 15-1 and then captured the nightcap 19-2 to remain undefeated on the young season.
Winning pitcher Tanner Gaff led the offense in the opener. Gaff went 2-3 at the plate with a triple, four RBI and a pair of runs scored.
Garrett Smiley was 2-2 with a double and a pair of RBI. Alex Bechtold was 2-3 with a triple and an RBI and Austin Sturgess was 2-4 with an RBI.
Avery Robbins went 3-4, including a double, and drove in five runs in the second game to pace Whitko.
Winning pitcher Zach Snep was 2-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Smiley was 2-2 with a home run and a double and three RBI and Sturgess was 2-2 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored.
Whitko, now 4-0, hosts Wawasee Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
