Whitko Sports Wrap – April 21
The Whitko softball team dropped a 6-1 final to Fort Wayne Carroll Monday evening.
The host Wildcats gave up four runs in the final inning as the Chargers broke open a close game.
Kennedy Krull led Whitko with two hits and a run scored.
Whitney Marsh smacked a double for the Wildcats. Losing pitcher Aly Nicodemus allowed no earned runs and also was on base twice for the hosts.
Whitko hosts Huntington North Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Whitko JV Team Rolls
The Whitko junior varsity team piled up 52 runs in sweeping a doubleheader Saturday at West Noble.
The JV Wildcats won the first game 26-6.
Tressa Keim had a huge game with five hits, including two triples and a double. Emily Hughes had four hits with two triples and a double. Tori Silveus was the winning pitcher.
Whitko won the nightcap by a 26-3 final. Avaree Freel had four hits with a double and a triple. Hughes had three hits with a double and a triple and Riley Insley two hits. Andrea Snavley was the winning pitcher.
Whitko plays at Tippecanoe Valley Tuesday at 5 p.m.
