NEW CASTLE – A class of 11 remarkable talents will be welcomed as inductees when the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame celebrates their 13th Women’s Induction Class on Saturday, April 26.

Including eight players who were named Indiana All-Stars, two which were named Miss Basketball, a three-time team MVP for three sectional championship teams, the class also incorporates one of the state’s winningest IHSAA girls basketball coaches (.848) and a current three-time consensus National Coach of the Year of a dominant in-state college program.

In addition, the 1984 undefeated Crown Point state championship team, which includes three past individual inductees, will be inducted as a group.

Each has also left their mark with successful careers in college and in their respective lives off the court.

The Hall of Fame group includes Notre Dame women’s basketball coach Muffet McGraw and former Jimtown High School star and Miss Basketball Kim (Barrier) McGuire.

The list also includes Ellen DeVoe, Marilyn (Rickelhoff) Dippel, Laure Foreman, Greg Kirby, Teri Moren, Lori (Meinerding) Morris-DeVries, Brenda (Kelsay) Simmons, Lisha (Robertson (Wilson) and Jenny (Eckert) Zorger.

In addition to these inductees, 18 women will be recognized as members of the Hall’s 2014 Silver Anniversary Team recognizing their spot as top graduating high school seniors of 25 years ago. The 1989 state champion Scottsburg Lady Warriorettes will be remembered 25 years after their State title.
