Russell P. ‘Russ’ Whetten
Russell P. “Russ” Whetten, 54, of Milford, Ind., passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, as the result of a motorcycle accident near Milford.
He was born on Oct. 18, 1957, in Elkhart, Ind., to Larry L. and Nancy M. (Stevens) Whetten. He attended Fairfield High School and lived most of his life in the Elkhart-Kosciusko counties area except for some time he lived in California and Arizona. He formerly worked at Holiday Rambler in Wakarusa, Ind., and Lippert Components in Goshen, Ind. as a welder. He was an amateur motor cross rider in California & Indiana.
He is survived by his mother: Nancy Savala, Milford; father and stepmother: Larry and Lucy Whetten, Edwardsburg, Mich.; a sister: Pam (Richie) Walker, Milford; two brothers: Steve Whetten Sr., Syracuse; and Albert Whetten, Woodland, Calif.; two nephews: Steve (Lia) Whetten Jr. and Cory Whetten; a niece: Stephanie (Bobby) Edwards; three great-nieces and nephews; three stepdaughters:
Kasandra (fiancé Jeremy Howard) Lanham, Leesburg, Ind.; Jessica (Jeremiah) Criqui, Topeka, Ind.; and Kyra Davis, Milford.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather: Lollie Savala.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home on Thursday with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Burial will take place in the Milford Cemetery at a later date.
